Class levels

Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Class Description

This class is all about gaining confidence in your sewing skills and taking control of stylistic and design decisions. We empower you to personalize your wardrobe even more by learning simple hacks and pattern adjustments you can make to your boxy top pattern. Lengthen your top into a tunic, shorten it into a crop top, add long sleeves or cuffs, add pockets! With these simple pattern hacks you can take one simple pattern and make a whole collection of unique, one-of-a-kind tops! In this class students will learn: -How to lengthen/shorten a pattern. -How to draft a simple sleeve or cuff. -How to add patch pockets. -How to color block your top. Each student will receive a full pattern of Shirt No. 1 by 100 Acts of Sewing to take home with them. Materials List: -1 ½ - 1 ¾ yards light-weight cotton lawn or poplin, light to medium weight linen (3-5 oz) or linen/cotton blend woven fabric (no jersey or knit fabrics) Find exact yardage here -Extra fabric for your hack. (additional ½ yard for sleeves, ¾ - 1 yard for a longer top) -1 yard ½ inch bias tape -Spool of matching thread

Class Policies

-Class instruction starts no later than 5 minutes after the class start time. Participants who arrive later may miss instruction or demonstrations. -Sincere Studio will be sending out emails with important class information, including lists of materials students may need to bring to class.
