Class Description

Ready to master the art of perfect-fitting pants? Join us for " Pants Pattern Drafting 101," an engaging five-week workshop designed to transform your sewing skills! Whether you’re a garment sewer still looking for the perfect pants pattern or someone looking to stretch their drafting skills, this course will guide you through drafting, fitting, and sewing your very own custom pants. Get hands-on experience, expert instruction, and the satisfaction of wearing pants that fit you flawlessly. Course Highlights: - Hands-On Practice: Draft, fit, and sew your own pants with tips that celebrate every body. - Expert Guidance: Learn from an instructor who teaches the ins and outs of pattern drafting in an approachable, "I'm not a math person," kind of way. - Interactive Learning: Enjoy personalized feedback and discussions with fellow sewists. - Fabulous Resources: Access step-by-step guides, templates, and all the goodies you need to make your pants project a success. Course Notes: - Students will be intimately working with and reflecting on their body in a way that honors everyone’s desire for a good fitting pair of pants. Because of this, students will be asked to wear or change into form fitting bottoms for each class (think leggings) for accurate measurements and fitting. Students may also at times need the help of others in reading or assisting with measurements. - Interactive materials will be provided in both paper and digital form. If you prefer to work digitally, bring your tablet! If not, paper copies will be provided. Course Materials (acquire and bring to class) -Drafting rulers (needed: straight, L square, vary form curve ruler. optional: hip curve ruler, more details will be emailed to you after signup!) -Muslin or other fabric to make test garments out of -Notebook (optional)
