Class levels

Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Quilt Jackets (6 week class)

Class Description

Level 4 - Students should be confident operating a sewing machine and comfortable reading, comprehending, and sewing from a garment pattern. Quilting experience welcome, but not necessary. In this class we will provide students with all the support they need to make their very own quilted jacket. Beginning with patchwork design all the way through jacket construction and attaching bias binding, we will provide one-on-one instruction, giving students the confidence they need to tackle this project! ***This class will involve homework! Making a quilt jacket takes 20-30 hours, so sewing time outside of class time is expected. Open Studio time is included in registration. *** ———————— Skills Learned include: -Designing and constructing a patchwork quilt square -Making and basting a quilt sandwich -Machine quilting on a domestic sewing machine -Jacket construction -How to attach binding -Installing hardware ———————— Material List (purchase and bring to class): -Spaghetti Western Sewing Rue Quilt Coat PDF Pattern (We can print it for you if you don't want to tape it together!) -Yardage required for your corresponding size -4-5 Buttons or snaps, or closure of your choice ———————— Materials Provided by Sincere Studio: -¾ yard of fabric for bias binding -Batting -4-5 fat quarters or scraps for patchwork quilt square -Thread ———————— Students will choose from 3 quilt block designs to feature prominently on their jackets.

-Class instruction starts no later than 5 minutes after the class start time. Participants who arrive later may miss instruction or demonstrations. -Sincere Studio will be sending out emails with important class information, including lists of materials students may need to bring to class.
