Class Description

This class may require work outside of class time depending on your quilt design and work speed. Students will have free access to open studio hours to work on their quilts outside of class time. This class is part of our Rework It series, where we use secondhand and reclaimed textiles to create unique new garments, bags, and quilts. Skills learned will include -Fabric prep, cutting, and piecing -Improv patchwork and log cabins -Quilt construction, including the quilt sandwich, and basting techniques -Quilting and binding Students will create a mini quilt using either improv patchwork or log cabins. Required materials (acquire and bring to class): -Reused textiles and other fabric scraps for this project, washed and ironed. Good textiles to use are: dress shirts and other medium-weight clothing, lightweight denim, linens like table cloths and napkins, small textiles like hankies and bandanas -backing fabric (we will figure out how much backing fabric we need in our first class) Sincere Studio will provide supplemental fabric as well as all other materials including batting.
