Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Rework It: Towel Sport Shorts (June)

Class Description

This class is a one day intensive, which meets Sunday June 29th from 10am -4pm. We will take a short break for lunch. Learn how to make the perfect river shorts out of vintage or second-hand towels/quilts/linens! These shorts feature an elastic waist, slant pockets, and an optional drawstring. We’ll be using vintage or second-hand towels, quilts, or linens for this cute and practical reuse project. This class is part of our Rework It series, where we use secondhand and reclaimed textiles to create unique new garments, bags, and quilts. We’ll be using the pay-what-you-can Sport Short pattern from Friday Pattern Company. This PDF pattern includes sizes XS/0 - 7X/32 (up to 63" hip). Please purchase the pattern before class. In this class students will learn: How to lay out, read, and interpret a pattern How to insert elastic into a waistband How to make bias binding and bind edges (Optional) How to use a buttonhole foot and insert a drawstring into a channel Material List: Sport Short Pattern from Friday Pattern Company (Sincere Studio offers A0 pattern printing!) Pre-washed towel(s), quilt, or linens (See the pattern for yardage needed) Matching thread (Optional) 1/2 - 1 yard contrasting fabric for waistband and bias binding Sincere Studio will provide waistband elastic and 1/2 - 1 yard of fabric for waistband and bias binding from our fabric library.


Class Policies

-Class instruction starts no later than 5 minutes after the class start time. Participants who arrive later may miss instruction or demonstrations. -Sincere Studio will be sending out emails with important class information, including lists of materials students may need to bring to class. No refund or class credit for cancellations or reschedule requests less than 48 hours Multi-week classes longer than two weeks will now require 1 week cancelation notice for class credit and two weeks cancelation notice for a full refund. We are not able to provide refunds, class credit, or reschedules for cancellations made less than 1 week in advance for multi-week courses that are three weeks or longer.
